Editing Blog

 Hey blog,

I am excited to report that the final task is over halfway finished! Right now we are really focused on editing since all the filming is done. Editing is also just as important as filming since it adds depth to the story. We are still debating the music and it has been difficult trying to find something. Most of the songs we found were copyrighted which prevented us from using them. Despite this, we just have to keep looking. Yesterday we split up the new unedited footage so we can all work on them. Just like filming for the second time, editing for the second time was much easier. Since it was fresh in my head, I knew exactly how to do it quickly. I just cut the unnecessary parts from the videos and deleted that part.

After, the entirety of the footage was fully edited. We previously had decided on using CapCut for the editing, which I have used before. I like how it is easy to use and free. We all uploaded our parts to the software, thankfully they were already in chronological order, so it was simple. Now was the fun part of a project like this. We could add any filter, transition, and effect. I thought for the beginning part there could be a bright filter and it can be slightly saturated. This would make those clips appear brighter and have a happier feeling. As the story would progress, I also thought that we could do a darker filter. This would coincide with the girl’s current disappearance. The dramatic color shift would solidify the audience’s idea of what the project is about, and it would be clear that it is a thriller. Well, that's all the updates this time!
